The rustic floor for the former barn house

A beautiful OXIMORO OPERA 19 wooden floor in the rustic Aida Rock finish was chosen for the renovation of a former barn converted into a home.

In the Faenza countryside, arch. Maria Tampieri of the SLiM! Architetti studio designed and developed the new use of an old barn, transforming it into a cosy place where rustic and contemporary coexist in harmony and create a close dialogue between past and present.

Here, more than 100 square metres of OPERA 19 in the colour Aida Rock were laid, a floor that is characterised by its rustic appearance and blond oak tones, a combination that fits well in contexts of renovation and refurbishment of old buildings where the atmosphere of the country and lived-in home is to be maintained, while maintaining brightness and light tones.

Its characteristics made it the ideal floor for this project, which is also characterised by plenty of natural light and the skilful use of salvaged objects.

OXIMORO OPERA 19

The OPERA 19 wooden floor has remarkable dimensional stability and is characterised by a wide range of finishes ranging from warm, traditional tones to fresher, younger shades. It is part of the Organica category, which brings together all the natural wood surfaces offered by SKEMA. Aida Rock is an oak with a rustic appearance class, i.e. knots and splits are evident, the surface is brushed and finished with UV oil-effect varnish.
