SKEMAidea in the loft of architect Franco Driusso

The new SKEMAidea proposals find a home in an exceptional location, the loft of architect Franco Driusso overlooking the Darsena in Mestre - Venice.

This environment, totally designed by the architect himself, was the protagonist of one of the episodes of Luca VS Luca, the programme on Udinese TV which allows viewers to enter the dream homes of the Triveneto region and which here showcased all the original solutions devised by Driusso.

Concept Open Space

Skinì, Trametes and Yles, the latter in the Kytos and Tarsìa versions, designed by Driusso himself, accompany us on a visit to the loft, created in the old boat storage spaces; an environment that faithfully responds to the concept of open space and remains so thanks to a connection between the spaces created by the play of transparencies and frames of the materials used.

This ultra-modern home features SKEMAidea's evolutionary design solutions. The first to welcome guests to the terrace with a view of the dock is Skinìthe Tech Metal Brushed Gold version of the divider, positioned in an arch to embrace the outdoor conversation and relaxation area.

A tour of SKEMAidea solutions

When you cross the threshold of the house, you are greeted by an intriguing Yles wood floor, a Kytos design characterised by the pattern defined by the shape of a Table but with 6 sides, two inclined at 10 degrees, which chases each other and intertwines through the prominence of the dark tones of the Carbo finish oxidised in depth, with a Texture and Brushing effect, to be finished with a Natural Oil.
The upper floor, consisting of an exposed mezzanine, is also finished with a floor from the Yles line, this time in the Tarsìa pattern: a Trapezium that forms a Triangle and then becomes a Hexagon. Material and surfaces in continuity with Kytos, oak Carbo.

Between the two floors, along the cantilevered glass staircase, there is a composition of Trametes  Circle, the sound-corrective proposal that gives acoustic balance to the interior through technology dressed in style and softness, here composed using red and grey fabrics and all three available sizes of the circular version, the result is a versatile artistic installation that furnishes the wall, creating an ambient effect thanks to the incorporated backlighting.

Architect Franco Driusso's loft in Darsena is a real journey into the world of cutting-edge design, integrating environment, history and technology, with so much attention paid to materials and so many surprising elements.
