Skema: a link of the chain

On March 8, 2016 we made you a promise, and on October 26 we honored it.

That promise stemmed from the awareness that the environment is made up of interconnected elements, like the many small links of a long, complex chain.

And we are one of these links.

Skema is now officially part of a group of companies that have made the ethical choice of sustainability, deciding to use certified PEFC wood.

PEFC (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is the largest forest certification organization in the world with over 300 millions of verified hectares. Its certification guarantees the use of raw materials produced in a controlled manner, respectful of the original forests and the communities involved in the machining process.

We said that we are a part of a chain, and this idea is not only related to the cause-effect relationships between environmental factors, but also to the PEFC concept of Chain of Custody (CoC).

In fact, to have the opportunity to apply the PEFC logo on our products it was necessary to get the CoC certification which ensure that our company complies with the standards of traceability of certified products used in production processes.

As in a chain, from the original forest to the house of who chose us, from the raw material to the finished product, we chose to be responsible to the other elements to which we are connected, whether they are natural resources, ecosystems or people.

Because commitment, respect and cooperation are part of our identity.
